MuseumQuest transforms a museum visit into a self-guided, narrative-based experience where visitors learn by exploring and observing.
Developed by Gymkana Turística, this digital system allows visitors to discover the museum through a story-driven game that begins by scanning a single QR code located at the entrance.
From that moment, visitors follow the route on their own mobile device — no app download required — as the game guides them through the museum using a storyline that blends curiosity, discovery, and learning.
The narrative leads the visitor through different areas of the museum, presenting challenges and riddles connected to the objects and spaces around them.
To solve each enigma, the player must observe carefully, use optional hints if needed, and upon solving it correctly, receives a brief explanation about the concept or fact the museum aims to convey.
Through this process, the visitor becomes the protagonist of their own learning journey.
The experience does not alter the physical layout or require additional installations.
It enhances the existing space, creating an educational, digital, and sustainable visit.
Each MuseumQuest can be tailored to the museum’s collections or exhibitions:
