Group Sharing E-Scooter Solution for Wiener Linien employees

Solution Overview:
This solution offers a safe, efficient, and user-friendly system for Wiener Linien employees to commute using electric scooters (e-scooters) with optimal battery range and size, while eliminating the need to carry scooters on public transport. A central feature is the Group Sharing System, where employees can easily access and share e-scooters from strategic charging stations at depots and garages.
Key Components:
E-Scooter Design Specifications:
Larger Wheel Size (10-inch wheels or more):
The scooters will have at least 10-inch wheels, ensuring they are suitable for complex urban road conditions. Larger wheels provide better stability, safety, and comfort, especially for employees commuting in busy city areas.
Battery Range (30 km+):
Each e-scooter will feature a battery capable of supporting an 80 kg rider over a distance of 30 km or more on a single charge. This guarantees that employees can complete their commutes without concern for battery life.
Charging Infrastructure:
Charging Stations (Instead of Lockers):
Dedicated charging stations will be installed at depots and garages to charge the e-scooters. This eliminates the need to fold and store heavy scooters in lockers, making it easier for employees to access and use the scooters.
Avoid Charging in Trains:
For safety, e-scooters will not be charged in public transport vehicles, reducing fire risks associated with lithium batteries in enclosed environments.
Group Sharing System:
Shared Fleet of E-Scooters:
The Group Sharing System allows employees to share a fleet of e-scooters, accessible from strategically placed charging stations. This system reduces the need for employees to transport e-scooters on public transit, simplifying logistics.
How It Works:
Employees can pick up any available e-scooter from nearby charging stations and return it at another station. This eliminates the need for employees to carry scooters with them, especially in driver cabs.
Employee Authentication (Updated):
Registration via Company Email:
Employees will use their Wiener Linien work email to register through a dedicated app, allowing them to join their assigned group. Once registered, they can access and use the e-scooters through the app.
App Functionality:
The app will handle authentication, tracking, and management of e-scooter availability, ensuring that only authorized employees have access to the shared fleet.
Safety and Compliance:
Fire Protection:
Charging stations will be designed with fire safety measures, including containment systems to prevent fire hazards. All stations will meet fire protection regulations for lithium battery charging.
Fleet Management:
A centralized system will monitor battery levels, scooter conditions, and usage patterns, enabling timely maintenance and ensuring reliability for employees.

Added value

Our Group Sharing E-Scooter Solution provides a safe, efficient, and user-friendly system for Wiener Linien employees. With at least 10-inch wheels for stability and a battery range of 30+ km, the e-scooters are designed to handle complex urban commuting for employees weighing up to 80 kg.
Key to the solution is the Group Sharing System, which allows employees to share a fleet of e-scooters from strategically placed charging stations at depots and garages. This eliminates the need to transport scooters on public transport, simplifying logistics. Employees register via the Wiener Linien work email using an app, granting access to the shared scooters.
Charging infrastructure is provided through charging stations, not lockers, making it easier to charge without heavy lifting. Importantly, scooters are not charged inside public transport, minimizing fire risks. Charging stations comply with fire protection standards and provide secure storage.
This solution enhances operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and convenience, while promoting sustainable commuting. It’s scalable, flexible, and future-proof, making it an ideal solution for Wiener Linien’s evolving mobility needs.
